The Asylum Years
There are 51 short stories, some are very short indeed and others are simply illustrated or in a comic strip format. They include sarcastic, irrelevant, ridiculous, true and heart warming tales. Examples: Art Gallery & Art Gallery II In comic strip format Simeon is taught about paintings by his professor, yet the worse the picture is, the better (apparently) and the paintings that seem excellent (to Simeon) are slated by the art critic expert. In Art Gallery II Simeon uses his new knowledge to secure a date with a lady he likes and she falls in love with him... Example: William the Conkerer Born a horse chestnut, soaked in vinegar and forged in an oven as a baby. Example: Mistaken Identity A non illustrated true story of how I was arrested and went to court in New Orleans during the Mardi Gras festival. Note: not every story is illustrated but if they are, they will be in black and white Sample illustrations below: |
